Múli is a tiny little village on the north-tip of Borðoy.
Múli had no electricity until 1970. It was the last village on the
Faroe Islands to be blessed with electricity.
Guttormur i Múla lived here in the 18th century. He was known to be psychic and also he possessed magical powers. He is said to have made a stone-fence in the hills above Kirkjubøur. The stones and rocks flew in place by them selves producing thunder and roar that could be heard as far as Velbastaður. While the fence was building itself Guttormur was knitting in one of the houses in Kirkjubøur. |
