Kvívík is a picturesque village located on Streymoy’s west coast.
It is situated on both sides of a narrow bay and is split in two by the small river ‘Stora’ that actually means ‘Big-river’.
Excavations have revealed remains of houses from the age of Vikings. This shows that Kvívík is one of the oldest settlements on the Faroe Islands.
