The village Kollafjørður is located in an inlet called Kollafjørður on Streymoy’s east cost.
fjørður means inlet in Faeroese.
The village is ‘stretched’ so it is actually about 10 kilometres long in spite of its small size.
The characteristic parish church is from 1837.
Kollafjørður has an annual civic festival called Sundalagsstevna. It runs in the beginning of July.
