Norðoyri lies by the Boroyarvík-inlet just south of Klaksvík on Borðoy. In the area there are ruins from a farm that was buried by an avalanche 12th of March 1745 and then again on the very same date 20 years later. Excavations have shown traces of buildings from the Vikings in Norðoyri.
