Gøtugjógv, Norðagøta and Syðrugøta are located in the bottom of the
Gøtugjógv-inlet on the east-side of Eysturoy.
The new church in Gøtugjógv is an attraction. Inside it is at huge stained glass made by the artist Tróndur Patursson from Kirkjubo.
The church was heavily discussed in the media as it turned out to be twice as expensive as planned.
From 1980 until 1989 there was a upper secondary school in Gøtugjógv.
